Our most popular bag is the Utrecht. Then we thought briefly about how could we improve it. Then we realized we couldn't improve it at all, but then Jonny wanted to buy a rucksack because he spends loads of time on his bike. A good chum, Tony Sylvester, recommended a few hip hand made USA / canoe rucksacks but then suggested that we just added ruckstraps to the Utrecht - a sort of "if it ain't broke don't fix it" idea. Then Rob from Be With Records got in touch and asked if we could make a rucksack like the Utrecht bag for his records. So, sensing a strange serendipitous thing going down, we designed and got this made. We think it's amazing and it has not been off Jonny's back since it came in. Hand made in the UK as usual, this features all the amazing features and quality as the Utrecht (double bonded waterproof fabric, military grade webbing, capacity for 50 LPs etc), but with double ruck straps, reinforced with webbing and leather, crossbanding, an integrated handle and brass rolling buckles and a pair of hand made stiffeners - perfect for protecting that rare 12" or even your macbook air. This is a superb, stylish, practical, hardwearing and comfortable rucksack that is perfect for record shopping, travel and will become your life long companion.
Made in England from English bridle leather, water-resistant Italian double-layered canvas, British solid brass fittings and military-grade British cotton webbing.
Width: 15 in (38cm) x Height: 16 in (41cm) x Depth: 2 1/2 in (6cm)
A pair of matching bespoke canvas stiffeners; a hand-printed letterpress 'thank you' card, and; a 'lucky dip' LP from Jonny's and Ed's collections.
“Had the bag with me today and it was a revelation - managed to squeeze all of the following in: A Build A Bear; One pair of Red or Dead shoes; A model Starship Enterprise; The new Wicker Man DVD; Various lady things from Crabtree & Evelyn; And two LPs. It even starting chucking it down with rain shortly before we left, and everything in the bag was bone dry. Wonderful all round.”
